Vital fire safety information not being passed on
As you should all now be aware, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO), introduced in October 2006, simplified the law on fire safety by replacing over 70 pieces of fire safety legislation. The RRO applies to all non-domestic premises in England and Wales, including the common part of blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupation (HMO’s).
Under the RRO, the responsible person must carry out a fire safety risk assessment and implement and maintain a fire management plan.
Even though this legislation has been widely publicised, in an article from info4fire.com The Passive Fire Protection Federation (PFPF) believe there is insufficient awareness of the need to pass on vital fire safety information upon completion of a building.
