The SCA Guidance on Smoke Control – Updated

The SCA Guidance on Smoke Control to common escape routes in apartment buildings (flats and maisonettes) was first published in November 2010. The prevention of smoke spread through buildings is of critical importance, but little guidance is currently available in one publication.

This document provides details and gives recommendations not previously covered in other standards or codes of practice and should make a significant contribution to improved understanding of smoke control systems.

Revision 1 has now been published and is available from the SCA Website.

Revision 1 includes amendments to clauses 6.2.6.1, 6.4.1, 8.2.12, 9.3.3, 9.3.4 to reflect recent changes in best practice and the publication of BS 9991.
