Brakel® Eura-R

EURA-R Louvred smoke ventilator with rain-proof side blades

The perfect choice for all-weather day-to-day ventilation, Airvent’s Eura-R is of similar high-volume throughout design to the standard Eura, with the exception of incorporated rainproof side blades. Integrated rain gutters mean water drainage can be easily controlled.

A range of base and flange designs are available, and the product is excellently suited for use in atria, shopping centres, industrial buildings, train stations and ports.

Materials

The Eura-R is constructed from tempered aluminium, which is sea water and corrosion resistant AIMg3, with corrosion resistant bearings. The seal – incorporating a weather-resistant sealing strip longitudinally and energy strips – is applied in such a manner that there is no risk of freezing. A high level of draft-proofness is guaranteed.

As the aluminium is corrosion-resistant, it is supplied untreated as standard. However, if desired Airvent can supply the Eura-R in an anodised or powder-coated design (in a RAL colour). It can also be designed to incorporate noise-damping wings and bird or insect mesh.

Brakel® Duo Therma

DUO THERMA Cold bridge-free, thermally insulated smoke ventilator

The innovative twin flap system employed by Brakel Airvent’s Duo Therma product make it ideally suited for buildings which have stringent requirements for air sealing and thermal and/or acoustic insulation, as well as for structures with high moisture levels.

A thermally insulated alternative is also offered, which will minimize the formation of condensation, and the product can also be supplied uninsulated, translucent, and with a single flap instead of two.

Materials

The Duo Therma is constructed from tempered aluminium, which is sea water and corrosion resistant AIMg3, sealed around with coated EPDM-rubbers which prevent freezing and guarantee a high level of air sealing.

As the aluminium is corrosion-resistant, it is supplied untreated as standard. However, if desired Brakel Airvent can supply the Duo Therma powder coated in any RAL colour. It can also be designed to incorporate 44dB noise-damping flaps, cold bridge-free base and flaps or with glass infill panels.

Brakel® Duo Therma

DUO THERMA Cold bridge-free, thermally insulated smoke ventilator

ESTRA Translucent louvred smoke ventilator

Attractive, sleek and elegant, the Brakel Airvent Estra louvred ventilator is designed to be applied vertically and is suitable for both day-to-day ventilation and smoke and heat extraction in the event of fire.

The translucent design makes it an aesthetically-desirable addition to any structure, and Brakel Airvent’s Estra has thermally-insulated profile sections, designed with both insulated glass and single glazed glass in mind.

Materials

Constructed from corrosion-resistant extruded aluminium, the Estra is available unpainted, RAL powder coated or anodised finish. The seal used is dependent on the type of closure method employed (e.g. mohair brushes). Brakel Airvent will be happy to advice on the best system for your needs.

Thanks to its stylish design, the Ventria is popular with clients looking to ventilate structural glass buildings or those with glass façades/roofs.

Materials

The Ventria is available in both thermally insulated, standard insulated or uninsulated forms, and is suitable for all types of glass up to 40mm thickness. Operating at angles up to 70° from the base structure, the frame is sealed with EPDM to ensure optimal sealing.

A variety of infills can be incorporated (single or double-walled aluminium panel, laminated glass, insulated glass, double or triple-walled polycarbonate) and Brakel Airvent can supply the finished product anodised or in a variety of RAL finishes.

Brakel® Enforcer 54

ENFORCER 54 Practical and aesthetic multi parallel linked blade smoke damper

The Enforcer 54 combination smoke and fire damper has been designed to satisfy smoke ventilation applications and is particularly suited to smoke evacuation shafts and risers in multi storey buildings.

Materials

The Enforcer 54 is manufactured from robust 1.5mm galvanised steel and is fully tested to the requirements of EN1366 Pt 2 for 1 hour. Usefully the damper combines both a low leakage rate when closed with a high free area when open, to support high smoke evacuation rates.

The damper is fitted with a Belimo actuator to offer either powered motor open/close or failsafe spring return open/closed actuation according to requirements. It is available in a wide range of sizes ranging from 400 x 400 to 1000 x 2000 with sizes based on the structural opening (aperture) dimensions. Effectively this means the largest size single damper can provide up to 1.5m2 of free area (multiple options are available).

The damper face can be powder coated to a stock RAL colour, with an optional cover plate fitted to disguise the motor. Alternatively dampers can be masked with fixed blade type architectural cover grille or louvre – with blades angled at 40° for virtual full masking or 15° for partial masking. These cover grilles can be face screw fixed or concealed fixed according to preference.

Brakel® Enforcer 54

ENFORCER 54 Practical and aesthetic multi parallel linked blade smoke damper

A high-quality architectural smoke ventilator window designed to deal with fire situations, the Lumera from Airvent offers the advantages of both the Luma and Ventria products in one elegantly engineered unit, designed deliberately with slightly inclined structural glass roofs in mind.

With the Lumera, Airvent presents a stylish glazed casement smoke ventilator with slim profiles and innovative controls which are cleverly hidden within the frame itself.

Materials

The Lumera is suitable for both day-to-day ventilation and fire ventilation. Cold bridge free aluminium profiles ensure high insulation values are attained.

The Lumera unit is supplied with insulated glass as standard, although uninsulated glass (or some alternative panel) is also available on request. Delivery, installation and sealing of the glazed panel can be carried out before supply of the finished unit, or by third parties on site.

Brakel® Sentry

SENTRY Compact, high-power axial fan for car parks

Designed with car parks and underground structures in mind, Brakel Airvent’s Sentry is a compact solution that can replace traditional ducted ventilation.

Suitable for relieving build-up of harmful gases in day-to-day use and directing smoke toward extraction points in the event of a fire, the Sentry produces a high velocity jet which adds momentum to the air in front of the fan, imparting thrust to the surrounding air via mixing and entrainment as it diffuses. The Sentry is also available with a truly reversible motor.

The small size increases ceiling clearance and reduces clutter and obstruction to CCTV cameras in the car park. The fan is powerful enough to operate in situations where there are structural obstacles to airflow such as pillars and downstandings.

Materials

Manufactured to the European Standard EN12101-3:2002, Brakel Airvent’s Sentry can operate in ambient temperatures up to 40°C, and can be relied upon in a fire event to operate for two hours up to 300°C.

The impellers are constructed from pressure die cast aluminium (LM24) and aluminium alloy (LM6), dynamically balanced to ISO Grade G6.3. Casing is robust sheet steel hot dipped galvanised after fabrication to BS 729. Motors are totally enclosed, airstream cooled, metric frame protected to IP55, with the complete units being manufactured to BS EN ISO 9001:2000. Accessories and colour variants are available.

INTELLIVENT OPC Integrated smoke safety controls

The IntelliVent OPC (Open Protocol Control) is Brakel Airvent’s industry-leading smoke control panel, designed to operate and co-ordinate the effective running of your smoke control system. If required the open network can be easily extended to control other building systems, cutting down on the need for multiple panels and providing a one-stop control system.

The IntelliVent OPC is designed to integrate various ‘life safety systems’, damper packages and day to day systems into one central intelligent unit, providing immediate response to detected changes in environmental conditions and applying the appropriate smoke control response immediately.

Options

The IntelliVent OPC is available with 5.7” (monochrome) or colour 7.5”, 10.4”, 15” or 19” HMI touch screens. The stainless steel panel enclosures can be either flush or surface mounted and are supplied with a lockable vision door. The HMI can also be separated from the control panel to allow incorporation into master control suite if required.

IntelliVent uses a fire rated network between the HMI and main panels and between the main panels and local interface units. This is an open standard based on IEC 62026 – 2 and EN 50295. The panel can be uploaded with various building graphics to suit specific client requirements and above you can see two typical images of what could be provided. Diagnostics, fault finding and system log are all available as standard with the IntelliVent OPC.

Unlike some other control systems, IntelliVent OPC is designed and tested to be so resilient that even a catastrophic failure to the front end mimic / override panel will not result in failure of the complete control system.
