For building types particularly prone to Fire Engineering, ie complex ones, we estimate it could be 10%. The proviso is that they need to be kept under review by RA. This is a cost albeit a small one that can be seen as an ‘insurance policy’ on the continuing safety of the building. Fire Engineering gives good cost news and also the bad variety. Responsible designers weight both dispassionately.
