Brakel strengthens with Argina Technics acquisition

Brakel – the parent company of Brakel Airvent – has acquired the Belgian firm Argina Technics, extending its portfolio of ventilation and smoke safety specialists.

The company, founded in 1980 and based in Sint-Niklaas, is focused upon the development and application of environmental and safety controls and systems and has succeeded in achieving a substantial market share in the Benelux region. An important factor in this success is the specialised nature of the company, with its own R&D team and a very direct line of communication with customers.

The acquisition of Argina Technics strengthens Brakel’s fire safety division and is a perfect fit with the group’s strategy of not only being a one-stop-shop with high-end products and systems, but also in becoming more international and expanding in further the area of maintenance and service. Argina Technics will now be managed by Koen De Maeght, the current managing director of Brakel Aero Belgium.

“Argina Technics is a unique company that is differentiated by its strong corporate culture and quality products that align perfectly with our vision of Light and Air for Safety and Comfort. With Argina Technics we are expanding our footprint,” commented CEO of Brakel, Ton van Gerwen.

“Acquisitions like this are a sign of Brakel’s ambition across Europe and beyond,” added Brakel Airvent Director Charles Hurdman. “And it’s an ambitious spirit that we share here in the UK. We’re already world leaders in the care and support of life safety systems, but we’re not resting on our laurels. With the investment and support that the Brakel group offers us, we’re in a position now to become stronger than ever.”
